Portfolio and wealth managers, investment and research analysts, brokers, professionals involved in the investment decision-making process, and finance students who want to work in the investment management profession.

How long does it take?

Approximately 2 – 2.5 years to complete (Level I, II, and III)

Prerequisites?

Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree (or be completed within 23 months)

OR 3 years (4000 hrs.) of experience after clearing +2.

A valid passport is required as well for identity proof.

How do I earn the CFA charter?

·       Successfully pass the 3 exams

·       Have 4000 hours of professional work experience in the investment decision-making process, completed in minimum of 3 years (accrued before, during, or after passing the exams)

·       Join CFA Institute as a regular member

EXAMINATION SYSTEM

A minimum of 1.5 years is required to complete the certification. Candidates cannot proceed to the next level without successfully completing the previous level.


Level I – Feb|May|Aug|Nov

§  Format: Multiple Choice

·       Questions:

o  Self-schedule within a 7-day exam window.

o Two 2.15 hours’ session with optional break

o 180 questions in total.

o Multiple choice questions. 3 options.

o  Recommended allocation time is 90 seconds per question.

o Retake can be only once in 6 months.

 


Level II – 3 times a year

§  Format: item set or “mini cases” – Each item set contains a vignette (with an average length of 1.5 pages)

§   Questions:

o    Item sets or “mini cases”

o   Recommended allocation time is 3 minute per question.

o   88 questions (4-6 questions per vignette)

 

Level III – Twice a year

§  Format: Essay, item sets and multiple choice

§  Question

o  Morning Session: Essay based short answer questions.

o  Questions on Level 3 are not specific to any single study session.



*Though the pass marks are not fixed. It’s believed that a score around 70% is a decent score for a successful result.

  • Materials and handouts shall be provided within a week of joining. Texas BA II Plus calculator shall be provided after payment of second installment only.
  • Fees shall be applicable level wise. If a candidate fails at any level or decides to defer the exams, he/she shall be eligible for free classes until he clears that level.
  • Level 2 & fees shall be reduced by 20% if Level 1 was studied with us.
  • Classes are run from 6 30 AM to 8 30 AM. Sun/Tue/Thurs for Level 1 and Mon/Wed/Fri for Level 2.
  • Students can also request extra classes on Saturdays when exams are due in a month.

The tentative total cost equals 8 lakhs.
